Standard Rubber Grommets

Price Comparisons vs. McMaster-Carr

While we recommend McMaster-Carr as a source for those willing to pay a premium price for handfuls of rubber grommets (43.5% more on average), those needing a few more can save a lot of money buying from Standard Gasket.  Standard Gasket minimum purchases run around $60 - $150 per item, while McMaster-Carr's run between $5 and $12 or so, though at prices as much as 333% higher. 

SG also offers free shipping and handling on orders over $100 (see Order Info for details, limitations), 3-tiered quantity-price breaks, multi-item discounts (6 items or more), and over twice as many standard-priced sizes of rubber grommets.  

Presently, we only have standard pricing published for our SBR rubber grommet line (same material used for many tires, belts, and hoses), but would appreciate a chance to quote your requirements from one of our other standard material offerings (e.g. Silicone, Neoprene, Buna-n, EPDM, Viton™ (Fluoroelastomer)). 

Notes

* McMaster-Carr prices derived from their online catalog at www.mcmaster.com (08/06/2005) and feature Buna-N rubber grommets as standard rather than SBR, which somewhat negates the comparisons.  Either compound is suitable for most applications, but those requiring resistance to fuels, oils, chemicals, extreme temperatures, or other special service requirements should be quoted using an appropriate material.
